What is a renewable energy source and what are its benefits?
A renewable energy source captures its energy from existing
flows of energy, from on-going, natural processes. They do not pollute the air like
power plants that rely on the combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural
gas. Renewable energy sources are sustainable, inasmuch as the sources cannot be
expected to be depleted by humans through usage, they are free energy, in as much
as the sources are directly available from the greater environment.
