Overview:
The information technology industry is
continuing to grow at healthy rate as business are heavily dependent on IT applications
for the operations. More and more enterprises are utilizing IT outsourcing as a
strategic means to achieve business goals such as cost reduction, business renovation
and competitive advantage. India has become the hub of the IT services export and
witnessed growth in employment opportunities. IT service majors have noticed certain
skill gaps in the fresh recruits from engineering colleges, while serving their
customers. The need for industry-academia partnership is therefore required in order
to enhance readiness of fresh engineering graduate work force and to make engineering
graduates “Industry Ready”. Campus Connect is a collaboration program between Infosys
Technologies Ltd. and MES College of Engineering, Pune- 01 to align engineering
student skills with industry needs. Prof. A. J. Hake on the behalf of College had
signed 3 years MoU with Infosys Technologies Ltd. for the purpose of enriching technical
education process and to jointly work for enriching the quality of education imparted
to the students of all engineering disciplines in the field of Information Technology.
